My thanks to Evan Milburn, cherry grower in Elkton,
MD for tracking down the solution

to this destructive disease. He indicated that with out discovering the
use of multiple

applications of Bordeaux Mix he would have lost his cherry orchard.

It would be my recommendation the all new and young
sweet cherry blocks begin a

program of Bordeaux Mix applications this September. Careful observation
and

scouting in older blocks should be done now to determine if this bacterial
disease is

present and control warranted. It is my observation to date that if any
Bacterial Canker

is observed in sweet cherry I would begin a spray program of Bordeaux Mixture
now.

For additional information please do not hesitate
to contact me.
