overlook of the Annapolis Valley. The Valley is Nova 
  Scotia's largest (and really only) apple production region and stretches from 
  Wolfville and the Minas Basin (upper 1/3 of picture) in the east, down the Cornwallis 
  River about 50 milesto Annapolis Royal. Soils in the Valley are good, and most 
  orchards are located in the foothills where elevation gives some frost protection.
